This new functionality monitors the battery levels of connected Garmin devices and sends automatic push notifications when the battery falls below a flexibly defined threshold, reminding users to recharge their devices promptly.

Maintaining adequate battery levels in wearable devices is crucial to ensure continuous health data collection and prevent data gaps. Fitrockr’s latest feature addresses this need by allowing researchers and medical staff to set a battery level threshold. When a device’s battery dips below the specified level, the system triggers an automatic push notification, prompting the user to charge their smartwatch.

This proactive approach helps users maintain uninterrupted data collection, which is essential for accurate health monitoring and research purposes. By preventing unexpected device shutdowns due to low battery, users can ensure that their health metrics are consistently tracked without interruption.

To utilize this feature, researchers and medical staff can access the alert management section within the Fitrockr platform. Here, they can create a new alert, configure the desired battery threshold, and select the option to inform users via app notification. 

The new feature is a free upgrade to all platform subscriptions.
