Garmin Connect and Fitrockr Can Now Be Installed on the Same Smartphone

Good news for Garmin users: the Fitrockr app and the Garmin Connect app can now be installed on the same smartphone. Previously, installing both apps on the same device could lead to conflicts. This is no longer an issue. Both apps can coexist on the same phone without interfering with each other as long as each app has its own Garmin device connected.

How It Works

You can install both apps on your smartphone:

▶︎ Fitrockr App

▶︎ Garmin Connect

However, there is one important rule: each app must be connected to a different Garmin device!

Garmin devices can only maintain a direct Bluetooth connection with one primary app ecosystem at a time. This means that the same device cannot be simultaneously connected to both Fitrockr and Garmin Connect.

Typical Use Case

It is common in research studies and clinical monitoring that a dedicated device is used for raw data collection via Fitrockr while users want to keep their personal Garmin device connected to Garmin Connect.

This can now be achieved as follows:

▶︎ A study or research device connected to the Fitrockr app
